Dear Friends and Partners,
We are grateful to share a significant moment in the ministry of TransformDRC—a moment of great encouragement and strategic reflection from a recent leadership training held in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Our Country Director, Marie-Jeanne Hamuli, was invited to participate alongside 12 leaders representing six countries across Central Africa. The theme was “Enlarge the Space of Your Tent” (Isaiah 54:2), a call to strengthen, expand, and faithfully steward God’s mission for the future.
This gathering served three key purposes:
- Renewal and equipping of church and district leaders who have not gathered for training since 2019 because of the COVID pandemic.
- Strategic reflection on the realities facing ministry in Central Africa.
- Prayerful planning for the next five years of leadership development, sustainability, and succession.
Marie-Jeanne’s session focused on:
- Strengthening Leadership in the face of limited resources, economic hardship, and continuing violent conflict.
- A renewed focus on reconciliation and unity as the Church serves as an instrument of forgiveness, reconciliation, and community restoration in Central Africa.
- Passing the torch to the next generation of pastors and leaders. Participants reflected on the responsibility not only to lead well today but to actively prepare and empower the next generation of pastors and leaders.
“We are not only called to carry the light—we are called to ensure it is passed on.” —Conference participant
Conclusion: Moving forward with hope. Despite significant challenges facing the leaders in all regions, the training ended with renewed hope. Participants expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to be refreshed and recommitted themselves to training others, strengthening local churches, and continuing to advance God’s mission in their regions.
Thank you for standing with Transform DRC. Your partnership makes this kind of leadership development, reconciliation work, and long-term transformation possible.
With gratitude,
TransformDRC Team
