Background:
To help churches lead lasting change, TransformDRC trained 50 pastors and church leaders in December to mobilize their congregations to meet social, economic, and spiritual needs in their communities. This training advances our vision: equipping communities affected by conflict and injustice to pursue healing, hope, and wholeness through Christ.
Why It Matters:
Pastors and church leaders are very influential in their communities in Eastern DR Congo. Years of war and poor leadership have left communities in Eastern DR Congo in poverty – making strong, values-based local leadership essential for recovery.
TransformDRC Actions:

- TransformDRC leadership partnered with Tearfund and the Anglican Church to train and engage 50 church leaders from multiple denominations.

- Four local committees were created that will produce four community action plans.
Expected Short-term Results:

- Implementation of pilot projects in each church that had a member in attendance

- Mobilization of local resources (financial, human, material)

- Launch of integrated activities: health, sanitation, youth mentoring, and support for vulnerable families
