What We Do

Our team on the ground in Eastern DRC is committed to bringing hope, restoration, and transformation to the communities they serve through trauma healing, women’s empowerment, biblical leadership training, and human rights advocacy.

Our Programs

Together, we help restore what conflict and injustice have broken through:

Biblical Leadership Training

Equipping leaders with the theological tools and leadership skills to inspire and guide their congregations effectively.

Many pastors in Eastern Congo lack formal theological training. TransformDRC equips men and women across denominations through a 12-session Biblical Leadership course, with a certificate recognized by a theological university in Kenya. We also host one-week conferences on topics such as servant leadership, trauma healing, and Bible study—offering practical tools to strengthen churches and inspire hope.

Women’s Empowerment

We equip women in vocational and business skills, enabling them to provide for their families.

Malkia—the name of the sewing school—means “She is Transformed.” This 9-month program equips women with sewing, business, and life skills so they can earn an income and support their families. Graduates receive a government-recognized certificate, sewing machine, and starter kit to launch their own business. Women also learn about trauma healing, Congolese family law, and financial literacy—empowering them to advocate for their rights and build a more secure future.

Human Rights Advocacy

We champion human rights advocacy by providing education on legal rights and responsibilities—covering topics such as human rights, family law, and land law—in local churches, secondary schools, and universities. Our goal is to promote justice and equality throughout the region.

TransformDRC provides free legal support for children, widows, orphans, and others denied justice. We defend minors unlawfully imprisoned, advocate for widows and orphans denied inheritance rights, and support those jailed because of corruption or lack of representation. As prisons have become informal and hidden during recent conflict and insecurity, our team locates detainees, documents abuses, and works toward their release—restoring dignity and reuniting families whenever possible.

Trauma Healing

Trauma healing programs offer emotional support and counseling to those affected by conflict, violence, and displacement, helping individuals rebuild their lives with renewed hope.

Conferences are designed to train church leaders in understanding trauma, practicing ongoing self-care, and applying biblical principles for healing. Sessions include role-playing, storytelling, prayer, and tools for supporting others. Led by trained professionals, each conference uses culturally appropriate methods to meet the unique needs of trauma survivors.

We cannot stop ministering because of insecurity. We must continue to work in season and out of season.

Where We Work

We work in some of the most challenging places in the Democratic Republic of Congo, serving those who need us the most.
